I recently purchased the latest McCulloch Electric Chain Saw,Model #MCC4516FK. Out of the box, I was Realy amazed at the quality of this tool and the Power it has! I was Cutting thick hard Pine logs 10 inches wide to 18 inched wide. It cut right through them, very quickly lots of speed(revolutions,) here. I used a 96 ft 10 Guage cord (For extra power) It is niosy so I reccomend ear protection. One feature I realy like is how the chain blade stops as soon as you let your finger off the trigger. I own an older Makita, This McCulloch is quite a bit more powerfull. Yes 2 or 3 AMPS DOES Mean quite more power, I choose this make/model over the Sears Craftsman, Remington, Ryobi etc. Also note:The chain is very sharp.
The only thing I do not like is the size of the chain/bar 16 inches, I wanted to make a strait cut through 18+ inch thick logs for wood working projects I could not make a strait cut through as the chain/bar is too short.I Urge Mcculloch to add the following, A cordless/corded portable model with a 8 or 10 inch chain/bar. An 18 inch model and a 20 inch model. The 15 AMP motor can handle a 18 or 20 inch bar. This tool is a power house. |

This Product, The McCulloch MCC4516FK 16-Inch 4.5 HP Electric Chain Saw With Case, was needed for the removal of trees on my property. The removal process took all of 10 minutes of work with this chainsaw. It was simple to operate, sufficiently "light weight" to make handling easy and powerful enough to tackle most of the light to medium tasks typically found around the home. Not having to deal with gasoline/oil fuel mixture, loud noise and annoying vibration from a gas engine made the selection of this chainsaw a perfect choice. It comes with a plastic case that completely houses the product, including the blade. I consider it an excellent value!

I really thought this chainsaw would be less than adequate because it didn't have a gas engine but I was seriously wrong! This little toy is relentless on wood!! I actually had smoke coming out of the stump at one time but the chain was spinning and the motor was keeping up. I had a gas powered McCulloch for 24 years so I thought I'd stick with them and it's the best I've ever used. Four outstanding features are:
1) The "tool less" chain adjustment. 5 seconds is all it takes to adjust it with nothing more than one hand. Loosen the yellow finger knob, turn the outer gray sleeve and tighten the yellow finger knob and you're done!!
2) When you squeeze the trigger, the chain jumps up to speed and, when you release it, the chain stops immediately but then the motor slowly winds down to a stop. Great safety feature!
3) It is only about half as loud as a gas chainsaw.
4) It uses automatic chain oiling. No pumping by hand anymore.
I will say that the chain sharpness only lasted about an hour but then I was cutting up a hard, dead stump. I highly recommend this tool! |

| I just bought the saw so have only used it to take down one tree. The McCulloch made for quick work without a lot of wear and tear on me (at 130 pounds that's important). Even though the saw is electric and lightweight, it never slowed down. Very pleased with the performance. Highly recommend. |
